Alh. Almaruf Salimonu describes Education as a veritable tool to ward off ignorance, other societal ills

Education has been described as a veritable tool to ward off ignorance and other form of societal ills. Founder of Almaruf Educational Support Foundation, Alhaji Almaruf Salimonu stated this while speaking with newspaper in Abuja. Alhaji Salimonu said education at all times has proven its potency against societal ills through reformation and behavioral modification. He appealed to parents to take the education of their ward seriously to reduce ignorance, poverty and crimes. Alhaji Salimonu said he floated his foundation to assist students in their academic pursuit noting that the foundation with the spans of over a decade has helped in providing instructional materials, exercise books and transport facilities to encourage students across the state. Professor Abdulhameed Mambo urges Muslims to be cautious of effective time management as given to mankind by Allah

Professor Abdulhameed Danjuma Mambo of the University of Abuja, has described Time  as one of the most precious resources given to mankind by Allah. Professor Mambo made the remark in a paper presentation at the monthly lecture Organised by Miftahul Khairat Juma'at Masjid, in collaboration with Sisters of Jannah in Lokoja. Professor Danjuma Mambo whose lecture centered on "Time Management in the life of a Muslim" said time itself is life, stressing that, every breath take is a count down to appointed time. According to him, he described time as life and death, success and failure of individuals and rise and fall of civilization. George Mataga urges members of Crusher community to avoid spread of rumour, go about their daily businesses without panic

Crusher Community have been told to go about their daily businesses and avoid the spread of rumour that can set panic to the people of the area. The community chairman, Mr George Mataga gave the advice shortly after inspecting the borehole drilling site that has generated panic of potential attack of the public by men of the underworld. The chairman who frowned at the negligence of normal procedure for execution of such project without community or security awareness noted that their actions has resulted to panic and closure of schools and businesses within the area. He dispel the rumour that there were kidnappers in the community but maintained the need for sustenance of mental alertness to nip crimes and criminalities in the bud. Mr Mataga commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting the approval for the recruitment of fifty thousand police officers, other security agencies as well as positive consideration of community policing. Kogi United FC Celebrates 31st Anniversary With Win Over Nurudeen Football Academy, Abuja

The Kogi United Football Club has emerged victorious in a thrilling friendly match against Nurudeen Football Academy, Abuja, winning 2-1 at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Sunday evening.  The match, which attracted football fans and sports lovers from within Lokoja metropolis, was part of activities to celebrate the 31st anniversary of Kogi United Football Club.  Kogi United FC scored their first goal on penalty kick in the first half, while Nurudeen Football Academy equalized immediately. In the second half of the match, the Kogi United FC through teamwork and display of sportsmanship secured the win over the Nurudeen Academy, Abuja. The Isanlu Progressive Union, Lokoja Branch has held its 2025 Annual Day, with a call on members to sustain unity among one another for the peace and progress of Isanlu land. Member representing Yagba East Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Emmanuel Obaro, made the call in a message to the event in Lokoja. Honourable Emmanuel Obaro who was the Chairman at the occasion and represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Cooperate Social Responsibility, Hon.
