KOGI STATE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION REOPENS OPERATION OF CONFLUENCE EXPRESS SERVICES IN ANYIGBA

In bid to offer better transport services to the people of Kogi Eastern Senatorial District, Kogi State Ministry of Transportation has revived the operation of Confluence Express Services Park in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area. Buses of the Confluence Express Services, which was formerly known as Kogi Travelers, will now be plying Anyigba to Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria and Kano. Speaking at the flag-off of the park in Anyigba, the State Commissioner of Transport, Mr. Atuluku Victor Levi, said the aim was to reduce challenges associated with transportation in the area as well as ensure safety of lives and property of the people on the road. Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Gabriel Akor, the Commissioner appreciated the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for approving the park, describing him as a leader who is committed to welfare of the people in all ramifications. KOGI STATE POLYTECHNIC WITHDRAWS 273 STUDENTS OVER POOR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE, EXPELS 6 FOR EXAMINATION MISCONDUCT

The Academic Board of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja has considered and approved the First Semester results for 2024/2025 Academic Session,  with 273 students who performed below expectations asked to withdraw from the institution. This was part of the far reaching decisions at the 120th meeting of the Board held on Thursday 17th April, at the Board Room of the Polytechnic Main Campus, Lokoja. The Chairman of the  Board, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended members of the Academic Board Result Verification Committee led by the Deputy Rector, Dr Samuel Taiwo Olowo for the due diligence on the results and charged them to sustain the tempo. He however expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of some  students which led to their withdrawal, despite providing a conducive atmosphere for learning. In a bold and proactive move to address rising insecurity and the influx of Fulani into Ofante Ogugu community, Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Hon. Ameh Williams, on June 20th, visited the community and Declared Zero Tolerance for insecurity and Criminal Activities in the area. The high-powered security and community engagement meeting attracted personalities including traditional rulers, women and youth leaders, security operatives, the Fulani and Hausa leadership in Ofante, political office holders, and other relevant stakeholders from Ofante, Adupi, Emodu, and surrounding communities. The Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Hon. Williams Ameh will visit Ofante Ogugu community today, the 20th of June 2025 to  rub mind with members of the community on the way forward to strengthening security architecture, especially in tackling  Fulani related issues affecting the community. Those involved in the meeting with the Chairman are traditional leaders, community leaders, representatives of Fulanis residing in Ofante, security agents, vigilance groups, youth leader and relevant community stakeholders. The aim of the meeting is to discuss on the way forward to put an end to the insecurities witnessing in the community especially the recent kidnapping of members of the community by the suspected Fulani herdsmen and other criminal activities taking place in the community. Gov. Ododo inaugurates Bank of Industry in Kogi, says the bank will boost State economy

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged the Bank of Industry in Kogi State to be upright in its dealings with the people. He assured the Bank of the total support of his government to the success of the bank, noting that his administration will work hard to ensure the growth of the Bank. The Governor called on the management of the bank to be just and fair with the people of the state and roll out programmes that will benefit Small and Medium scale Enterprise  in the state. Governor Ododo who assured of the provision of an office accommodation to enable the bank commence its activities, directed the  allocation of a piece of land as the permanent site.
