KOGI STATE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION REOPENS OPERATION OF CONFLUENCE EXPRESS SERVICES IN ANYIGBA
In bid to offer better transport services to the people of Kogi Eastern Senatorial District, Kogi State Ministry of Transportation has revived the operation of Confluence Express Services Park in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area.
Buses of the Confluence Express Services, which was formerly known as Kogi Travelers, will now be plying Anyigba to Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria and Kano.
Speaking at the flag-off of the park in Anyigba, the State Commissioner of Transport, Mr. Atuluku Victor Levi, said the aim was to reduce challenges associated with transportation in the area as well as ensure safety of lives and property of the people on the road.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Gabriel Akor, the Commissioner appreciated the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for approving the park, describing him as a leader who is committed to welfare of the people in all ramifications.

Ododo, the executive governor of kogi state for approving this gathering today. When he was approached, he magnanimously approved that Kogi Travelers, now known as Confluence Express, should now be reopened in the eastern flank of the state and that's what we are doing today". He said.
The Commissioner who noted that the park has commenced full operations, appealed to stakeholders of both the Ministry of Transport and that of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers to work in partnership to sustain the existing unity for the successful operation of the park.
Mr. Atuluku called on travelers in the Kogi Eastern Senatorial District to patronize the Government owned transport services, stressing that it is cheaper and safer.
In a remark, the state Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer, Engineer Ahmed Dauda Enesi said their duties as Road Traffic Officers are to ensure the roads are secured, drivers are properly licensed to drive and all the vehicles in the state are roadworthy.
"Ours as the Vehicle Inspection Officer, Road Traffic Officer of the state is very simple. What we are to do is to ensure that we secure the roads and ensure that the drivers that will be driving these vehicles they are properly licensed to drive the vehicles and to ensure that the vehicles are roadworthy so and to also ensure that all the vehicles in the state are roadworthy. We are going to double up in our effort to make sure that this confluence express that is coming to Kogi East will be used with vehicles that are roadworthy and not defective". Hon. Atuluku.
Engineer Enesi advised the drivers to drive the buses with caution inline with road safety protocols, as well as use the vehicles that are roadworthy, ensure the safety of lives and property of commuters on the road.
The Ogohi Onu-Anyigba, Alhaji Abuh Shaibu Okolo, who was represented by the Gago Anokwu Jarachi, Alhaji Umoru Farry Adejoh, appreciated the State Government for reopening the activities of the Confluence Express Services in the area and promised unwavering support to complement the efforts of the government towards successful operation of the park.
On his part, Kogi East Coordinator of the Confluence Express Services, Mr. Peter Omede said taking care of the park for successful operation is a collective responsibility and appealed to transport stakeholders and people of the area to ensure team work to enable them succeed together.
