NUJ Scores Sen. Karimi's Representation Excellent, Bags Effective Legislator Award

The Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly has been praised for his effective representation to the people of Kogi West Senatorial District.

The Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists conferred, today conferred Sen. Karimi with an outstanding legislator award.

The award ceremony was held at the grand finale of the NUJ Press Week in Lokoja.

In his goodwill message, Sen. Karimi, represented by Hon. Idris Lokoja, expressed gratitude to the NUJ for the recognition, saying it was a testament to the hard work and dedication. 

"I prayed that God would continue to guide and support the NUJ in their endeavors, and I believe this is the most valuable award I have received so far because it is coming from the Profession that matters", he stated.

Karimi noted that the award was not just a recognition of past achievements, but also a responsibility to do more for the people of Kogi West,  emphasized the importance of truth and integrity in all aspects of life.

The Senator listed some achievements in the areas of education, infrastructure, empowerment amongst other accomplishments as a product of making the people first in his representation.

The Senator pledged to continue work tirelessly to promote the welfare of the people of Kogi West and the society at large. 

He commended the NUJ for their role in holding those in power accountable and promoting good governance.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Kogi West for the opportunity given to him to serve them, pledged to make more positive impact in the coming days.

The award, Karimi said, was a blessing and a reminder that there is always more to be done. He urged others to continue striving for excellence and to hold those in power accountable.

He thanked the NUJ for the award and pledged to continue to work towards the betterment of the society, expressed his commitment to promoting truth, integrity, and good governance in all aspects of life.

Earlier, the State Chairman of NUJ, Alhaji Ademu Seidu Haruna noted that the choice of awardee followed a painstaking exercise based on their past track record of achievements.

Alhaji Ademu Seidu Haruna urged them to see the NUJ award as a greater call to service, adding that the Union will continue to recognize excellence in service delivery.

SECURITY: OLAMABORO LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN ENGAGES OFANTE OGUGU COMMUNITY, PLACES BAN ON RECEIVING NEW FULANIS

In a bold and proactive move to address rising insecurity and the influx of Fulani into Ofante Ogugu community, Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Hon. Ameh Williams, on June 20th, visited the community and Declared Zero Tolerance for insecurity and Criminal Activities in the area. The high-powered security and community engagement meeting attracted personalities including traditional rulers, women and youth leaders, security operatives, the Fulani and Hausa leadership in Ofante, political office holders, and other relevant stakeholders from Ofante, Adupi, Emodu, and surrounding communities. 2024/2025 WAEC Data Capturing Commences In Kogi Public Secondary Schools Jan. 13

By Stephen Adeleye  Lokoja, Jan. 10, 2025 The Kogi State Ministry of Education, has announced the date for the commencement of Data Capturing for 2024/2025  West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Public Secondary Schools across the state.   The announcement was made in a statement signed by Mrs Iyabo Moraiyewa, the WAEC Desk Officer, Kogi State Ministry of Education on Friday in Lokoja.  According to the statement, the 2024/2025 WAEC data capturing would commence on Monday, January 13, 2025. Moraiyewa solicited for the total support and cooperation of the relevant stakeholders for a seamless exercise.
