Governor Ododo commissions water drilling machine donated to Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has donated a multimillion naira water drilling machine to Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) in a bid to boost water supply to the people across communities in the State.

The provision of the water drilling machine is part of commitment of the State Government to boost water supply especially at rural areas through Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA).

Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Comfort Nwuchola Egwuaba, while commissioning the equipment on behalf of the Governor in Lokoja, expressed the commitment of the present administration to putting an end to water scarcity in the State.

Governor Ododo said he will not relent efforts at ensuring that people of the state have access to potable water, urging management of RUWASSA to ensure the maintenance of the drilling equipment and other water facilities in the agency to enable the government serve the people better.

In a remark, the Commissioner of Water Resources, Engineer Yahaya Farouk said, since assumption of office, the Governor has not relent efforts at ensuring the reviving of water supply in the state.

On the state of water supply in Lokoja metropolis, the Commissioner said the ministry has achieved hundred percent plan to supply potable water to the people through a designed raction manner, assuring that more surprises will be witnessed in terms of water supply soon.

Responding, the General Manager, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Hon. Ahovi Salami Ibrahim, described the gesture by the Governor as an effort to alleviate the sufferings of the people in rural areas.

According to the General Manager, with the provision of the water drilling machine, it will energize them to do more, saying the agency will complement the effort of the Government by ensuring that every communities across the three senatorial districts of the state have access to potable water.
