National Directorate of Employment disburses empowerment items to unemployed persons in Kogi State.

National Directorate  of Employment (NDE), has disbursed  empowerment items  to unemployed persons who participated under the ninety-three thousand, seven hundred and thirty-one jobs creation initiative of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu led Administration in Kogi  State.

The Director General of the NDE, Silas Ali Agara in a message to the distribution of the items in Lokoja, said  it was a continuous effort to tackle unemployment through the development of vocational skills among the teaming unemployed youths in the Country.

Represented by the State Coordinator of the NDE, Mrs.  Ilebaye Christiana Ochimana, the Director General  noted that the programme serves as an enablement for its skilled participants who have shown commitments in the course of the training to enable them put into practice the knowledge acquired for poverty reduction,  wealth creation, employers of labour and self reliance. 

In his remark, the supervisor/facilitator of the programme from NDE Headquarters, Abuja, Mr. Fagbohun Samson  Busuyi  charged  beneficiaries to be enterprising, look inward, employ creativity and innovation in their respective endeavours to attract high patronage.
 
on his part, the representative of  the People Living with Disabilities (PWD) & Training Centre Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Daniel Arome told beneficiaries that NDE's vision is Jobs for All, urging them to support the Directorate's drive to accomplish its mission by making judicious use of the items for maximum productivity.

Responding on behalf of beneficiaries, Mr. Jamiu Tijani appreciated the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the uncommon intervention targeted at the downtrodden in the country and promised to make judicious use of the items.

One hundred and seven beneficiaries received Items including; Gas cooker, Deep Freezer, Pressure pots, Cylinder, Desktop computer, printerUPS,  Electrical equipment/Tools for electrification, GSM Repairs Tools, Sewing machines, Welding equipments among others.

SECURITY: OLAMABORO LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN ENGAGES OFANTE OGUGU COMMUNITY, PLACES BAN ON RECEIVING NEW FULANIS

In a bold and proactive move to address rising insecurity and the influx of Fulani into Ofante Ogugu community, Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Hon. Ameh Williams, on June 20th, visited the community and Declared Zero Tolerance for insecurity and Criminal Activities in the area. The high-powered security and community engagement meeting attracted personalities including traditional rulers, women and youth leaders, security operatives, the Fulani and Hausa leadership in Ofante, political office holders, and other relevant stakeholders from Ofante, Adupi, Emodu, and surrounding communities. 2024/2025 WAEC Data Capturing Commences In Kogi Public Secondary Schools Jan. 13

By Stephen Adeleye  Lokoja, Jan. 10, 2025 The Kogi State Ministry of Education, has announced the date for the commencement of Data Capturing for 2024/2025  West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Public Secondary Schools across the state.   The announcement was made in a statement signed by Mrs Iyabo Moraiyewa, the WAEC Desk Officer, Kogi State Ministry of Education on Friday in Lokoja.  According to the statement, the 2024/2025 WAEC data capturing would commence on Monday, January 13, 2025. Moraiyewa solicited for the total support and cooperation of the relevant stakeholders for a seamless exercise.
