Governo Ododo receives Touch of unity for state contingent to participate in twenty second National sports festival in Ogun State

The Touch of unity has been presented to the Kogi State Government, signifying the participation of the state contingent in the twenty second National sports festival schedule to hold in Abeakuta Ogun State.
Receiving the Touch of unity in at the Government House Lokoja, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, said sports has demonstrated capacity to transform the society and unite the People.
The Governor maintained that the festival will unite the nation in love, peace and harmony, explaining that his Administration has shown dedication to providing enabling environment conducive for sporting activities in Kogi State.
He assured sports stakeholders that the government will continue to build upon the current achievement in the sport sector
The Governor assured of the readiness of the state to participate fully in the festival and called on the kogi state contingents to the festival to be good ambassadors of the state as well as win laurels at the games.
The presentation of the Touch serves as an Invitation to the states to participate in the sports festival holding in Abeokuta, Ogun State in May.
On his part, the state Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe in a message to the presentation of the Touch of Unity, assured of adequate representation at this year's National Sports Festival, beginning from the fifteenth to the thirteenth of May, twenty twenty-five in Ogun state.
The Commissioner who was represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Haruna Jibo gave the assurance while handing over the touch of unity to the team leader of the National Sports Commission, Ikana Mbora at the Deputy Governor's Office in Lokoja.
Defining sports as a unifying factor, the Commissioner noted with delight that Kogi is the third state receiving the touch after Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Minna, Niger state.
Hon. Anyebe stressed that the touch of unity in Kogi State signals the nod of participation given by the national Sports Commission, assuring that the state will not only participate in the event but also win laurels at the festival tagged Gateway games, twenty twenty-five.
The Team leader from the National Sports Commission, Abuja, Ikana Mbora said the touch is in Kogi as a sign that the state is participating fully in the festival and thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his care and solidarity.
In her speech, the touch bearer in the Kogi state sports commission, Blessing Anthony Itodo expressed joy at bearing the touch for the first time and called for discipline, noting that with it, the athlete will go a long way to win laurels.
