A Non-governmental Organization appeals for financial support for a kidney challenged patient, Koffa Martha Amadosi
A Non-governmental Organization, Known as Participation Initiative for Behavioral Change in Development (PIBCD) has appealed to Government and spirited individuals to come to the aid of a kidney challenged patient, Koffa Martha Amadosi.
A representative of the NGO, Akande Rachael Remilekun made the call when she led a team on a visit to the patient, Kaffa Martha Amadosi who has been diagnosed with Kidney disease and hospitalized at the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Lokoja.
The organization called on Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, relevant stakeholders and spirited individuals to come to her aid to enable her undergo kidney transplant.
Koffa Martha Amadosi, a twenty-four (24) years old who hail from Ogorimagongo Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been suffering from Kidney disease since November, 2024.
Speaking during the visit, Koffa Martha Amadosi said she has been suffering from the Kidney disease since November last and first diagnosed at Oprime Hospital in Lekki, Lagos before her move to Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Lokoja.
Martha who is a National Diploma (ND) holder from the Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, said the money needed for her kidney transplant is thirty million naira (N30,000.000).
A breakdown of the money shows that a total amount of twenty-five million naira (N25,000.000) goes for kidney transplant, while five million naira (N5000.000) is for medications after the operation.
Martha who is currently hospitazed at the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, said her parents are civil servants, precisely Local Government workers, saying they have spent all they have on diagnosis and other medications and could not afford the money for the transplant, calling on Government, NGOs, stakeholders and spirited individuals to come to her aid.
