KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT SAYS GRASSROOTS SPORTING ACTIVITIES WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE ADEQUATE ATTENTION
Kogi State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe says the Government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will continue to give adequate attention to grassroots sporting activities in the state.
Hon. Monday Anyebe stated this at the Twenty Twenty Four National Base Ruth League held at Saint Augustine Secondary Kabba in Kogi State.
The Commissioner who was Represented by the Director Sports Development in the Ministry, Mr. Ogazuma david noted that, with the efforts of the present administration towards building talents, grassroots sporting activities will come on board again in the state.
Hon. Monday Anyebe said the Youth lovers of sports in the Rural Area in the state will given necessary support by involving actively across the state.
According to him, the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has total passion for the growth and development of Youth and Sporting engagement in the state, assuring that necessary efforts will be put in place for the development of grassroots sporting activities across the State..
The commissioner commended organizers of the League for hosting the Game in kogi state and assured of government partnership towards the progress and development of the sports in the state.
He called on sports lovers in the state to join hands with the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to move sporting activities in the state to greater heights.
The Commissioner while Congratulating the winning team of the female category at the event promised that Kogi State Government will feature them among the youth games come next year and encouraged them to be serious with their studies.
Speaking, the League president of the Babe Ruth League Nigeria International in coomporation, Mr. Ayodele Gideon Juwon said the mission for organizing the competition was to develop grassroots Sporting activities and to discover talents in the state.
Mr. Ayodele Gideon Juwon added that the league is also out to take yong ones out of the street and engaged them in meaningful ventures through Sports.
The Under Sixteen Softball Confidence Flippers Team kogi State won this year's League of the competition.
