Kogi State Government revives operation of Confluence Express Services in Okene

In bid to offer better transport services to the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District, Kogi State Ministry of Transport has revived the Confluence Express Services park in Okene, which is now plying Okene to Lagos and Okene to Kano.

Speaking at the flag-off of the park  in Okene, the State Commissioner of Transport, Mr. Atuluku Victor Levi, said the move was to reduce challenges associated with transportation as well as ensure safety of lives and property of the people on the road.

The Commissioner noted that the park has commenced full operation and urged travelers in the Kogi Central Senatorial District to patronize the Government owned transport services.

Represented by the permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Gabriel Akoh, the Commissioner appreciated the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for approving the park, describing him as man who is committed to all round development.
"I want to thank the executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for reopening the activities of Kogi Traveler, which is now called "Confluence Express Services" in Okene. He have that  love for the development of both town and villages of Kogi State. When this issue came up, he gave express approval for the commencement". He said.

In a remark, the state Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Worker, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim, represented by the Vice Chairman, Okene branch of the union, Sani Muritala assured of collaboration and peaceful coexistence for the smooth running of the park and appealed to management of the park to ensure that any vehicle loading from the park is properly registered with Logos and paint of Confluence Express Services for easier identify.
"The Confluence Express Services is coming to complement our services and there are highly welcome. We believes in smooth running of of our business and peaceful coexistence". He said 

The State Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO), Engineer Ahmed Enesi Dauda described the initiative as a welcome development, advising management of the park to live up to expectations and ensure that passengers boarding vehicles from the park always fill manifest to enable them trace their addresses in case of unforeseen circumstances.

On his part, the Community Leader, Comrade Amoka Salihu Hussein said the operation of the Confluence Express Services in Okene comes with a lot of opportunities, promised the support of the community to ensure its smooth operation and appealed to management of the park to consider people of the area in their activities.

Earlier at the the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, and the Chairman, Ebira Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, described the reviving of the park as timely and expressed joy for seeing it happening during his time.

The Traditional Ruler who was represented by the Secretary, Ebira Area Traditional Council, who is also the secretary to the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, Alhaji Yunusa Sule assured of the cooperation of people of the area and called on management of the park to use the buses for the purpose intended.
