Ohinoyi of Ebira Land Aplauds Kogi Poly Rector for Transformational Leadership

The Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji  Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje has applauded the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, for his all-inclusive and innovative leadership approach  which led to unprecedented transformation of the institution. 

The Monarch gave the commendation while receiving the Rector and other Principal Officers of the Polytechnic who were on a courtesy visit to his palace on  in Okene.

The Royal Father congratulated the Professor Usman Ogbo on his well-deserved re-appointment as Rector of the Polytechnic, describing the appointment as a reward for his  innovative, commitment and exceptional leadership approach to academic excellence.

The Traditional Leader maintained that the Professor Ogbo's re-appointment was well deserved, considering his outstanding achievements and distinguished track records over the past four years.

The Ohinoyi assured the Rector and other principal officers of the institution of his continued support, particularly in addressing land encroachment and security issues at the Itakpe Campus and emphasised his commitment to fairness, justice and equal treatment for all, regardless of tribal or religious affiliations.

He commended the Rector for his trailblazing initiative in establishing the School of Agricultural Technology, a pioneering move that holds immense promise in addressing the perennial issue of food insecurity in Nigeria which he believes will enhance food production as well as create a plethora of employment opportunities, thereby contributing significantly to the nation's socio-economic development.

The Royal Father also commended the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the achievements recorded within a short period which have surpassed citizens expectations, particularly in the areas of peace and tranquility as evident in the last nationwide protest that was not experienced in Kogi State.

Earlier, the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman appreciated the royal father for his warm reception and congratulated him profoundly on his ascension to the throne of his forebears.

Professor Usman took a moment to reel out the numerous and unprecedented achievements accomplished under his visionary leadership, including, rehabilitation of students hostels; Securing 100% accreditation for over 30 programmes previously unaccredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), cash backing of staff promotion; creation of employment opportunities; successful holding of the institution's convocation after almost a decade and above all bridging ethnic divides amongst staff and students thereby fostering a harmonious and inclusive academic community.

He appealed to the Royal father to express his profound appreciation to His Excellency, Alhaji  Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continuous supports to the Polytechnic, particularly his kind approval of the ongoing fencing project at the Itakpe Campus, stressing that it will enhance the campus security, prevent encroachment and provide a safer learning environment for students.

He assured the royal father that the management team would continue to strive for greatness, fueled by a relentless passion for excellence and dedication to making the people of Kogi State proud while propelling the institution to new and greater heights.

All the Principal Officers of the institution accompanied the Rector on the visit.
