KOGI NUJ PRESS WEEK: Members of Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists embark on Road Walk

Journalists in Kogi State, on Monday, the 19th of August 2024, embarked on road walk as part of activities marking this year's Press Week of the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

The event, which started at the Kogi State Press Centre, saw working journalists walk to the Government House junction, through Post Office and back to the Press Centre, Lokoja. 

Speaking shortly after the exercise, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhaji Seidu Ademu, emphasized the health benefits of regular exercise for journalists, encouraging them to stay fit and perform their jobs optimally. 

"It is very important because journalists needs to be very fit and well because we are always on the move. This fitness exercise will make members work with easy and in good health. When you are not sound, this work can not go smoothly. With the level of fitness we have today, I think we are good to go especially with the grand finale coming up tomorrow". He said.

He commended journalists in Kogi State for their massive turn out in the road work and urged them to sustain the tempo.

Alhaji Ademu maintained that this year's press week has been a successful one, appealing to Journalists to be committed to union's activities in Kogi State and stick to ethics of the profession in the discharge of their duties.

He urged chapel leaders to mobilize members for the Press Week's grand finale, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, the 20th August 2024, at the Edgedrive Hotels, in Lokoja.
