Bassa LG Council Polls: Hon. Theophilus Daruwana promises all inclusive governance if elected


The All Progressives Congress (APC) Aspirant for Bassa Local Government Chairmanship in the forthcoming Council elections, Hon. Theophilus Daruwana has promised to ensure all inclusive governance if elected.

Hon Daruwana who made the promise shortly after his screening at the APC Secretariat Lokoja, expressed satisfaction with the exercise.

The APC Chairmanship Aspirant who has been screened successfully, described the exercise as successful and commended the screening Committe for ensuring a credible and transparent exercise.

He expressed readiness to serve the Bassa people diligently and promised to carry everybody along in the scheme of things, saying the narrative of the Local Government must be changed for better under his watch if elected.

"I am born to serve, if the mandate is giving to me, I am ever ready to do good to the people of Bassa Local Government, and I will carry everybody along by the special grace of God...I am believing God that the Local Government will definitely change during my tenure". He said.

Speaking on his achievements as a six months caretaker Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Daruwana said he has achieved a lot including; payment of NECO Fee to some less privileged, payment of school fee for students across three districts, building of mosque in Ogba, the ongoing building of lock up shops in gboloko, as well as the ongoing building of education officer's office among others.

The Bassa APC Chairmanship Aspirant said he has made security a priority in his developmental agenda which people of the area can now sleep with their two eyes closed.

On the efforts to cushion the present hardship on the people, Mr. Daruwana said he ensured palliatives from the Federal and State Government were distributed to the targeted people across nooks and crannies of the Local Government.

"Ever since I came on board, everybody is sleeping with his or her two eyes closed which I know God is actually working". His voice.

SECURITY: OLAMABORO LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN ENGAGES OFANTE OGUGU COMMUNITY, PLACES BAN ON RECEIVING NEW FULANIS

In a bold and proactive move to address rising insecurity and the influx of Fulani into Ofante Ogugu community, Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Hon. Ameh Williams, on June 20th, visited the community and Declared Zero Tolerance for insecurity and Criminal Activities in the area. The high-powered security and community engagement meeting attracted personalities including traditional rulers, women and youth leaders, security operatives, the Fulani and Hausa leadership in Ofante, political office holders, and other relevant stakeholders from Ofante, Adupi, Emodu, and surrounding communities. 2024/2025 WAEC Data Capturing Commences In Kogi Public Secondary Schools Jan. 13

By Stephen Adeleye  Lokoja, Jan. 10, 2025 The Kogi State Ministry of Education, has announced the date for the commencement of Data Capturing for 2024/2025  West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Public Secondary Schools across the state.   The announcement was made in a statement signed by Mrs Iyabo Moraiyewa, the WAEC Desk Officer, Kogi State Ministry of Education on Friday in Lokoja.  According to the statement, the 2024/2025 WAEC data capturing would commence on Monday, January 13, 2025. Moraiyewa solicited for the total support and cooperation of the relevant stakeholders for a seamless exercise.
