Legends Club of Okun Land to purchase JAMB forms for 300 indigent students in Kogi

By Stephen Adeleye Lokoja, Jan. 11, 2025  A socio-cultural group, the Legends Club of Okun Land in Kogi, is set to purchase  Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for 300 indigent students to support less privileged students in the area. Legend Olusegun Abereoran, the Director, Media and Publicity of the club, disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lokoja. Kogi earmarks N7bn for upgrade of 88 healthcare facilities, hand over sites to contractors

By Stephen Adeleye  Lokoja, Jan. 11, 2025  The Kogi State Government says it has committed the sum of N7 billion for the upgrade of 88 additional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the state. The State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Ododo stated this on Saturday in Lokoja, during the official Handing over of Sites to Contractors for "Upgrade of 88 Additional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs)". Ododo, who was represented by the state's Commissioner for Health, Dr Abdulazeez Adeiza, said the additional 88 PHCs would complement the ongoing upgrade of 70 PHCs to functional Leve-two facilities. The governor described the initiative as another bold step toward achieving effective healthcare delivery and universal health coverage for citizens. 2024/2025 WAEC Data Capturing Commences In Kogi Public Secondary Schools Jan. 13

By Stephen Adeleye  Lokoja, Jan. 10, 2025 The Kogi State Ministry of Education, has announced the date for the commencement of Data Capturing for 2024/2025  West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Public Secondary Schools across the state.   The announcement was made in a statement signed by Mrs Iyabo Moraiyewa, the WAEC Desk Officer, Kogi State Ministry of Education on Friday in Lokoja.  According to the statement, the 2024/2025 WAEC data capturing would commence on Monday, January 13, 2025. Moraiyewa solicited for the total support and cooperation of the relevant stakeholders for a seamless exercise. Sen. Shehu Sani Releases Fund For Renovation of Lokoja Palace of Deposed Etsu Nupe

Shehu Sani, has released fund for the renovation of the palace of deposed late Etsu Nupe Bida, Mallam Ibrahim Abubakar, who died in 1911 in Lokoja. The Senator, who recently visited the tombs of Six deposed Emirs by British colonialists in Lokoja, had promised to renovate the Lokoja palace of deposed Etsu Nupe, as well as the rehabilitation and revival of the Islamiyah School, hosting the tombs of two of the deposed Emirs. The renown Human Rights Activist, who confirmed the fund release to Correspondent on Monday in Lokoja, reaffirmed his commitment to appreciating freedom fighters in the country.
